In the late 9th century, Prince Amleth survives the murder of his father, King Aurvandill, by his uncle Fjölnir, who also takes the king's wife and kingdom. Years later, Amleth grows into a brutal Viking warrior and learns that Fjölnir has settled in Iceland. Driven by revenge, he sets out to confront him, meeting a woman named Olga along the way.
