A vivid reimagining of The Wizard of Oz, Wicked follows Elphaba, a green-skinned girl who grows up facing prejudice and misunderstanding, and Glinda, a spoiled popular student who becomes her close friend at college. Elphaba also encounters Fiyero, a local prince and heartthrob, and the Wizard of Oz himself, who is far more troubled and unlike the figure people remember. As Elphaba fights injustice and confronts the past, the story reveals how she comes to be known as the Wicked Witch of the West.
