In 2003, a young boy living in a small town in Maine befriends an older, reclusive billionaire, Mr. Harrigan, while reading novels to him. Over the years, their bond grows, and Craig later gives Harrigan an iPhone, which the older man comes to enjoy. After Harrigan dies, Craig buries the phone with him, only to discover that he can still receive messages from beyond the grave.
