Parthenope

In 1950, a woman is born in the sea off Naples and is named Parthenope, after the ancient Greek siren associated with the city. Over the long summers of her youth, she searches for happiness, falling in love with her home city and its many memorable characters. Her bright, restless life is shadowed by the suicide of her brother, Rafael.
