Caleb is obsessed with exotic creatures and keeps insects from around the world in his apartment, alarming his neighbors and upsetting his girlfriend. When he acquires a strange new spider, a hardy predator capable of killing an elephant with a single bite, it escapes into the ventilation system and begins reproducing at a terrifying rate. Soon, a rundown Paris apartment block becomes a deadly trap as its residents fight to survive an infestation of rapidly multiplying spiders.
