After nearly two decades of fighting the Cheyenne, the Apache, and the Comanche, U.S. Cavalry Captain Joseph Blocker is ordered to escort the ailing Cheyenne chief Yellow Hawk to his ancestral home in Montana's Valley of the Bears. His final assignment becomes even more difficult when widowed settler Rosalie Quaid is taken in by his band of soldiers. With marauding Comanches still on the warpath, Blocker must try to complete his duty one last time.
