After living in New York for years and becoming used to her independent life, Ronit returns to her hometown of Hendon after the death of her father, a respected rabbi, and is drawn back into the Orthodox Jewish community that once shunned her. A reunion with her childhood friend, now married to her cousin, rekindles a forbidden attraction and forces both women to confront faith, duty, and desire. Their relationship stirs tension within the conservative community.
