A family of ducks living in a pond in New England are content to stay safe at home, but the mother wants to show her kids the world beyond their familiar life. When a flock of migrating ducks stops at their pond with stories of faraway places, she convinces the father to take the family on a journey through New York City to tropical Jamaica. But the trip does not go as smoothly as planned.
