When Ruth, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, goes missing on a snowy Christmas Eve, her daughter Bridget returns home to Chicago and joins her brother Nick in dealing with the family crisis. Their father Burt refuses to accept Ruth’s condition or consider long-term care, clinging instead to the life they had before. As the siblings try to decide what is best for their mother, old tensions and painful memories surface.
