After the death of Superman at the hands of Doomsday, the world mourns the loss of its hero. When Superman's body vanishes, four new heroes appear in Metropolis, each bearing the 'S' symbol on their chest. Lois Lane begins to wonder who they are and whether one of them could be the returned Superman.
