In 1960s Newark, New Jersey, as the city becomes increasingly racially divided and violent, young Anthony Soprano comes of age amid the rising conflict between local gangs and the powerful DiMeo crime family. At the same time, his uncle Dickie Moltisanti struggles to balance his personal and criminal responsibilities. Dickie's influence over Anthony helps shape the impressionable teenager into the future mob boss Tony Soprano.
