Based on Prithviraj Raso, the film is a biopic of legendary Hindu Rajput warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chahamanas dynasty. It depicts his early life, military accomplishments, marriage to Sanyukta, and his battle with Muhammad of Ghor, who led the Islamic conquest of Hindustan (India).
